The town of Paüls, in Baix Ebre, is one of the two new venues on the route of the Volta a Catalunya, together with Sant Vicenç de Castellet, in a fact that highlights the capacity of the Catalan cycling event to continue expanding its territory after 104 editions of history. On this occasion, the four regions that make up Terres de l'Ebre will be protagonists in a fifth stage that finishes in the city of Amposta, just as it happened only two years ago in stage entirely at Terres de l'Ebre that finished at the summit of Lo Port. There, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic scored a key victory to take the overall classification of that 2023 edition ahead of world champion Remco Evenepoel.
