Berga will host for the twelfth time in its history a start or finish of a stage of the Volta, after having hosted the start of a stage on six occasions, and the finish point on five occasions since its first presence in 1947. After six decades of absence from the race route, the capital of Berguedà was once again the protagonist last year, with a spectacular stage that premiered the Queralt Sanctuary as a stage finish of the Volta, an experience that will be repeated this year to once again provide us with images to remember. The world champion and triple Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar made this stage one to remember through the mountains of Berguedà, showing off solo and merging with the public to end a memorable party at the summit of Queralt that will be repeated this 2025. It just so happens that, this season, 50 years will be celebrated since another legend of cycling, Eddy Merckx, was also crowned on the ramps of Queralt, in this case in the Setmana Catalana.
