October 4 th 2024 - 10:09 [GMT + 2]

The second edition of the women's race of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya already has dates for 2025. Thus, from 6 to 8 June, we will once again experience three days of top-level women's cycling in our country.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) has confirmed the calendar of international races for 2025, which includes the Catalan race in the UCI 2.1 category. After four editions of the so-called Revolta, a one-day women's race that has been held since 2018, this 2024 was a step forward with the celebration of the first stage edition of the women's race of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.

A stellar first edition that counted with the participation of seven UCI Women's World Tour teams and whose winner was a legend of women's cycling, the Dutch cyclist Marianne Vos, triple world champion and considered by many to be the best cyclist in history. Her teammate Riejanne Markus (Team Visma-Lease Bike) and Norwegian Katrine Aalerud (Uno-X Mobility) completed the podium.

Three days in which we could see great stages such as the opening stage with start and finish in Manresa, which made us discover unknown areas of the central regions. A second stage with a high altitude finish in La Molina, where the high mountains were the main protagonist of the day, and a final stage between Molins de Rei and Barcelona where we saw a heart-stopping final sprint on Avenida Maria Cristina in the Catalan capital, with victory for AG Insurance New Zealander Ally Wollaston. So, between 6 and 8 June we will once again enjoy the best women's cycling on our roads, in a second edition that is already working on its route to attract the interest of the best teams and cyclists in the world.
