THE UCI AWARDS THE HIGHEST SCORE FOR THE MEN'S AND WOMEN'S VOLTA CICLISTA A CATALUNYA

The International Cycling Union has rated with the highest possible score the organization of the 103rd edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the 1st edition of the women's race of the Volta.
The final report that the UCI sends to the organizations of the races that make up the international calendar, which evaluates various aspects such as organizational capacity, the security of the race, television production, the route, the accommodation of the teams or the citizen participation during the stages, have been evaluated with the highest possible score for the two races organized by the entity.
A recognition that values the professionalism and quality of the third oldest stage race in the world, after the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia, and that is also extended to the first edition of the women's race of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, which celebrated its first edition last June.
The UCI has taken into account important aspects such as safety during the stages, thanks to the placement of visual signaling elements for cyclists along the route, as well as the convoy of more than 50 motorcycles of the security forces (Mossos d'Esquadra) that will ensure the smooth running of the races.Other aspects he praised were the route. In the men's race a total of seven stages that have allowed to show the world the Catalan territory, with a demanding and mountainous route that could be followed in 190 countries around the world, thanks to a television production that had three cameras on motorcycles, a helicopter and three fixed cameras at the arrival.
A hotel logistics that facilitated the comfort of the participants, providing quality establishments and proximity to the starting or finishing point of the stages and a dedicated public that turned to the race, and did not miss the opportunity to go out and cheer the best cyclists in the world, have made the Volta worthy of this qualification.
In the women's race, three spectacular and varied stages with a finish in Barcelona and a live television production on TV3 and RTVE Play. The UCI has especially praised the qualitative level of the women's race, highlighting that the organizational level carried out was the same as in the men's race, making the final organizational result excellent. They also wanted to praise the information provided before the race, together with the security and medical coverage, which made it a first class event.
These reports are a source of pride for the organization and highlight the work done thanks to the help of all the actors involved: Secretaria General de l' Esport i l' Actividad Física, Diputacions, City Councils, FGC, Mossos d'Esquadra and Servei Català de Trànsit, volunteers and organizational staff, among many others.
