The last stage of Volta a Catalunya in Barcelona changes its schedule
March 18 th 2025 - 12:15 [GMT + 1]
By force majeure causes and reasons beyond the organiser's control, the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya will undergo a change in the time schedule and route of its last stage on 30 March, starting and finishing in the city of Barcelona.
In order to avoid serious mobility and safety problems, and due to the coincidence in time with the first division football match between FC Barcelona and Girona FC at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (scheduled for 16:15h), as well as shows planned at the Palau Sant Jordi on Sunday afternoon, the arrival of the peloton in Barcelona will be brought forward by one hour.
This time advance means that the stage scheduled for Sunday 30 March will be shortened from 136km to 88km, eliminating the Molins de Rei pass, the Corbera mountain pass and the pass through Sant Vicenç dels Horts, among others.
The 6 laps of the Montjuïc circuit will remain exactly the same in order to enjoy a total spectacle on the magical mountain of Montjuïc. Thus, the first entrance at Barcelona will be one hour before, and the finish of the stage at Avinguda Rius i Taulet, at around 1 pm.
This earlier timetable will make it possible to regulate more effectively the massive arrival of fans at the Olympic Stadium, as well as the access to the Palau Sant Jordi, and to facilitate the dismantling of the finish of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya in time to guarantee mobility and safety.
