Next Monday, March 18, the caravan of the Volta will start from the town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, the starting and finishing point of the first stage, and will finish on Sunday, March 24, at the emblematic Circuit de Montjuïc in the Catalan capital. A seven-stage route that will take the best teams and cyclists in the world through spectacular scenery throughout the Catalan territory. La Volta reaches its 103rd edition consolidated among the elite of cycling events, generating worldwide media interest.

The race will capture all the sporting protagonism and will have live television coverage that can be followed, as usual, on all five continents. Media coverage of the race will reach 190 countries around the world thanks to the broadcasting of 36 television and digital platforms and 3 news agencies. As can be seen in the television broadcasting map of the French company ASO (organizer of the Tour de France) and responsible for the commercialization of the television rights of the Catalan race, the Volta generates a great media impact worldwide.

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya is positioned as one of the reference events in professional cycling. The prestige achieved over the years has meant that, year after year, the best cyclists in the world include the Catalan race in their international calendar. This 2024 there will be three international agencies responsible for distributing the images in the world, we are talking about AFP TV, EVS and SNTV. In Spain, the race can be followed by Televisió de Catalunya (through the Esport 3 channel), RTVE (through the Teledeporte channel) and Eurosport.

The media interest aroused by the Volta will allow an exhaustive follow-up on television thanks to the 2 hours of live broadcasting of each of the seven stages of the race. In Europe the Volta can be followed in 54 different countries thanks to the Eurosport signal. TV2 Sport will also broadcast live in Norway and Denmark.

The presence of the race will also reach all continents thanks to the daily broadcasts of prestigious operators such as Eurosport Asia, which will distribute the images in Asia and Oceania, Claro Sport, which will broadcast in Latin America, Supersport on the African continent, or Abu Dhabi Sports in the Middle East. The race will be broadcasted by important TV channels such as Caracol TV in Colombia, Meridiano in Venezuela, TVC Deportes in Mexico, SBS Australia, Jsports in Japan or NBC in the United States.

After last year's exhibition between star cyclist Primoz Roglic and World Champion Remco Evenepoel, this year the Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar heads the list of participants. The two-time Tour de France winner will make his debut in the Volta Ciclista Catalunya 2024. He will be accompanied by Tour de France winners such as Egan Bernal or Geraint Thomas or the American Sepp Kuss, winner of the last edition of the Vuelta a España.

The media interest aroused by the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya at the international level is evident in these figures. The UCI World Tour race reaffirms its position in the professional calendar and becomes one of the cycling events of reference in March, prior to the Giro de Italia in May and the Tour de France in July.
