iCat is looking for the song of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2024

iCat is launching the competition to find the song that will provide the soundtrack to the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2024, and is calling on Catalan musical groups and soloists to submit unpublished songs between 27 November and 14 December. The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Department of Culture, in collaboration with the Catalan Academy of Music, are promoting the initiative.
La Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and iCat are once again launching the #iCatVolta contest to choose the song that will accompany the 103rd edition of the competition, which will take place from 18 to 24 March 2024. The radio station is calling on solo bands from the Catalan music scene to submit an unpublished song in Catalan between 27 November and 14 December. This year, as a novelty, it will also be the official song of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Women’s.
A jury composed up of members of the Volta, iCat, the Department of Culture through the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises (ICEC) and the Academy will select the three finalist songs, which will be made public on 18 December and will be put to a vote among iCat listeners from 9 to 16 January. From this vote will come the winning song, which will not only identify the race, but also the whole previous communication campaign. The winner will be announced on 16 January. Among the listeners who participate in the voting we will draw a double ticket for the Cruïlla 2024 festival.
The iCatVolta contest is organised by iCat, the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Department of Culture, through ICEC, in collaboration with the Catalan Academy of Music.
The first edition of the contest, in 2020, designated "Eclipsi", by Blaumut, as the song of the centenary edition of the competition, which had to be postponed until March 2021. "Boires i retrets", by The Penguins, was chosen for the 2022 edition and the Lleida-based Sexenni won last year with "Houston".
