Volta keeps the itinerary for the 100th edition

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya announces that for its 100th edition, which will finally be held from 22 to 28 March 2021 after the forced postponement due to the pandemic in 2020, it will maintain the attractive and challenging itinerary that had planned, after confirmation from all the cities involved.
The Volta will start in Calella, and in the second stage will live one of the great newness planned for this edition, an individual time trial (ITT) in Banyoles that will mark the first differences between the favorites. The third and fourth stages will be the high mountains arrivals, at the sky resorts Vallter 2000 and Port Ainé, with start at the Canal Olímpic de Catalunya and Ripoll, respectively.
The fifth stage will start in La Pobla de Segur and will finish in Manresa, with Montserrat as a great scene, while the sixth stage will be one of the longest, starting in Tarragona and finishing in Mataró.
The great finish will be as always in Barcelona, on the circuit of Montjuïc that will revive the mythical and classic climb to the Castle, adn will decide the winner of the 100 edition of the race.
“We are very pleased with the response of each and every one the cities involved with the Volta. All of them have maintained their connection with the Volta in this important edition, and the finish of the race will be a great spectacle, specially on television, in a period when we all need good news” said the president of the Volta, Rubèn Peris.
The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya has taken good note of all the Health Protocols in cycling during the end of the season and the recommendations of the health authorities. The race will adapt all the protocols to offer to the cyclists, teams, staff and organisation a safety event.
