For one more edition, and that will be four consecutive ones, Sant Feliu de Guíxols will be again the Grand Departure of the Volta a Catalunya, in an agreement extended until 2027. In total, it will be the fifth time that l'Empordà city lays the foundation stone of the Volta, since it also did so in 1993 with an individual time trial won by the Italian Maurizio Fondriest ahead of Miguel Indurain. In total, Sant Feliu de Guíxols has been present in the parcours of the Volta a Catalunya as a host city in thirteen editions, in which the winners on its streets have been names such as Laurent Jalabert (1992), Michael Matthews (2019 and 2022) and Primoz Roglic (2023).
