The Volta a Catalunya 2022, live in 190 countries and on five continents

 (Barcelona, 18-03-2022).- The 101st edition of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, which will start next Monday 21st March in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and will cover seven stages until the finish in Barcelona on 27th March, will have an extraordinary media coverage. The images of the race will reach the whole world through 40 international broadcasters, allowing the international reach of the Catalan cycling race to continue growing.

Once again this year, the Volta a Catalunya will have a luxury participation of world-class riders, a privilege that will be reflected in its media impact. Coverage of the 2022 Volta a Catalunya by television operators with a global reach continues to grow, and daily images of the Catalan cycling race will reach all five continents, with a presence in 190 countries, as shown on the television broadcasting map of ASO, the company that markets the Volta's television rights.

Four worldwide image distribution agencies (AFP TV, Reuters, EVS and SNTV) will once again provide international coverage of the event, which at national level will be covered by Televisió de Catalunya, RTVE and Eurosport. Each day, the Volta will have two hours of live broadcasting so that the resolution of the seven stages can be widely followed.

Eurosport will once again provide live coverage in 54 territories across Europe, adding this year the presence of TV2 in Norway and TV2 in Denmark. Eurosport Asia, Claro Sports in Latin America, Super Sport and SSC in Africa, SBS in Australia, FloBikes in Canada, RCN in Colombia, JSports in Japan and Sky Sports in New Zealand will also provide live coverage. Also, the International platform GCN will also provide live broadcast to 120 territories.

These are exceptional figures for the media coverage of the Volta a Catalunya, which in its 101st edition continues to increase the international impact of a benchmark event in world cycling, which thanks to its presence on the UCI World Tour calendar boasts the presence of the best cycling teams in the world.

In this 2022 edition, a luxury participation is once again expected, with the presence of names such as the reigning Olympic champion Richard Carapaz, four world champions (Alejandro Valverde, Michal Kwiatkowski, Rui Costa and Philippe Gilbert), the former winners Nairo Quintana and Richie Porte, other grand tours winners such as Tom Dumoulin or the reigning European champion Sonny Colbrelli.
